About the event

Bio: Dr. Zong Liu is an Associate Professor and Extension Specialist at the Biological & Agricultural Engineering Department, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. Dr. Liu’s programs focus on both traditional and novel technologies of manure and mortality management. Dr. Liu drew upon his broad academic and applied research background to develop practical solutions.

Abstract: Managing animal manure is essential for recycling nutrients, protecting water/air quality, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Through Dr. Liu's work in Texas and beyond, this talk will introduce manure liquid/solid separation, composting, anaerobic digestion, and various state-of-the-art manure management technologies. Over this seminar, we will also explore Dr. Liu's latest work on climate-smart practices, remote sensing, and AI, and learn how they are advancing manure management and animal agriculture in Texas.
