Definición
For CASFER, PI refers to the principal investigator. According to NSF, principal investigators are "the individuals designated by the proposing/recipient organization and approved by the Federal research funding agency who contribute in a substantive, meaningful way to the scientific development or execution of a research and development project proposed to be carried out with a research and development award."
Each of our CASFER projects has a principal investigator, who is in charge of developing and executing research and ensuring that each project furthers CASFER intiatives and propels us toward the goal of a nitrogen circular economy. The principal investigator is in charge of the delegation of tasks and maintaining an atmosphere of academic integrity within each project. PIs play an important role in the CASFER ecosystem.
