Engineering Workforce Development

CASFER Engineering Workforce Development will train the next generation of engineers and technical workforce with skills set at the intersection of engineering, agricultural sciences, and environmental science, through:

K-12 Education

Outreach and engagement programming meant to attract and retain the next generation of the NCE workforce, targeting people before they enter college;

 

Undergraduate Education

Focused on training the next generation of NCE leaders in both industry and academia;

​

Graduate and Post-Graduate Education

Recruiting and maintaining an excellent team of graduate students and researchers to further CASFER research and the field of engineering, broadly;

 

Re-skilling and Upskilling

For the purpose of engaging and educating a broader, more public audience, and for continued education for industry and academic professionals.

 

CASFER will also focus on creating agents of change and influencers targeting formal and informal education along the K-gray spectrum. Further, these EWD initiatives will focus on the development of technical sills, baseline skills, and soft skills to provide a well-rounded skill set for the next generation of the NCE workforce.
